About our Hospital
Silver Lake Hospital is specifically designed to focus on patients with clinically complex medical conditions that require intensive and customized treatment for an extended period of recovery time. Our team specializes in Long-Term Acute Care to service the needs of patients who may require extended treatment, as well as complex Wound Care and Dual Diagnosis patients.
Long-Term Acute Care Hospital
Silver Lake Hospital is an acute care specialty hospital that provides highly advanced and intensively focused care for higher acuity patients who have not responded adequately to short-term treatment in the traditional general hospital setting. In addition, an average length of stay at Silver Lake Hospital is 25 days as compared to a 3-5-day average in a general hospital. Nursing homes as opposed to long-term acute care hospitals, offer less intensive, sub-acute services typically seen after a general hospital stay. Fundamentally, patients appropriate for this kind of care include those who may be ventilator dependent, suffer from multi-organ failure or have deep wound ulcerations.
Dual Diagnosis Department
Our Dual Diagnosis Department offers quality, compassionate behavioral health care for adults who have been struggling with psychiatric and substance use disorders. Mental health concerns and psychiatric illnesses often go hand in hand with substance abuse. Many people who suffer from both mental health problems, such as depression or anxiety, and simultaneously have substance abuse problems are most often described as dual diagnosis patients.
If you struggle with both psychiatric symptoms and substance abuse problems, we will provide a secure and safe place to stabilize both complications in our state-of-the-art hospital setting. Our team of highly qualified clinicians have comprehensive experience treating dually diagnosed patients. Our dual diagnosis program is designed to address and meet your individualized needs and provide the support and expertise required to make your recovery a reality.
Center for Wound Care and Healing
Our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) option is a specialized treatment that allows patients to enter a pressurized chamber which delivers 100% pure oxygen. It achieves this by increasing the air pressure in the chamber by two to three times that of regular air pressure. The concentrated hyperbaric dose of oxygen helps patient’s blood carry more oxygen to the damaged organs and tissues to promote wound healing. It can also activate the immune system to help fight against infections.
Our facility has 4 state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen monoplace chambers monitored by our hyperbaric and wound care certified staff.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is approved by the FDA to treat the following conditions:
- Bone infections (Osteomyelitis)
- Brain abscess
- Burns
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Chronic non-healing wounds (Diabetic foot ulcers)
- Complete hearing loss
- Decompression sickness (diving)
- Gas gangrene
- Promotes healing of skin grafts and flaps
- Radiation injuries
- Severe anemia
- Vision loss (caused by blockage of blood flow)
